Hanover Historic Courthouse

A National Historic Landmark, the Hanover Historic Courthouse is located in Hanover County, Virginia – right across the street from the Hanover Tavern. Here, Patrick Henry practiced law and argued the Parson’s Cause, an important event leading up to the American Revolution. The Courthouse is cited to be built sometime between 1735 and 1742. It is the third oldest courthouse still in use in the United States.

Toady, the Courthouse is open by appointment only. The grounds, however, are open year round.
