This past weekend, Transcend Paranormal had the privilege of being the first team to investigate the Hanover Arts & Activities Center located in Ashland, Virginia. Built in 1850, this building was home to the First Baptist Church of Ashland. For 104 years, the building was utilized as a community church. The only exception is during the Civil War, when it served as a hospital. Many Confederate soldiers passed away in this building at that time, with rumor that blood still stains the original flooring – hidden from sight by a newer flooring placed above the original.

In 1969, the building was converted into a community center, serving Ashland and Hanover as the Hanover Arts and Activities Center. This Non-Profit focuses on the arts, education, and activities to engage the community. This location plays hosts to many weddings, theatrical performances, and even offers rental studio and meeting spaces for artists, musicians, and community groups. Check out their website for more information!

Our investigation of the building was very active! Preliminary review of our audio have found a number of EVP’s already, including some anomalous behavior recorded on our DVRs. We are very excited to be pairing up with the folks at this location, and even more excited to bring you along with us! That’s right – early next year, we will be hosting a public investigation of the Hanover Arts and Activities Center! Check back here later this year for dates, times, and to snag your tickets!

Yes, you read that right! For the first time ever, we will be having a joint investigation between Scotchtown and Hanover Tavern. Two amazing locations in one night.

Join us as we investigate 8 locations spanning across the Scotchtown and Hanover Tavern properties. All of these buildings and areas are tied in history – from Patrick Henry’s family, the Shelton family, and more.

You won’t want to miss this investigation! For more information and tickets, check the Event Page on Facebook.

This upcoming Wednesday night (June 13), we will be up at Hanover Tavern for the monthly Haunted Hanover Tavern Tours! We will be on-site and hanging out! Come on by (even if you aren’t going on the tour!) and grab some dinner with us! We’ll be talking about the paranormal experiences we’ve had at the Tavern, as well as Scotchtown and other locations we’ve investigated! We will also have our equipment with us for you to check out as well! See you Wednesday!

If you missed us last night on The Freakin’ Awesome Paranormal Show, don’t worry! We recorded the interview and discussion on Facebook Live. Hanover Tavern‘s Executive Director David Deal and Transcend Paranormal‘s Director Steve Dills discussed the paranormal on-goings at Hanover Tavern and the surrounding buildings, and a number of upcoming investigations this year, including our first ever joint investigation between Hanover Tavern and Scotchtown! Check out the video below!

Hey Everyone,

If you didn’t catch us the other evening on Facebook Live, we announced our next big public investigation! For the first time ever, we are partnering up with both Hanover Tavern and Scotchtown to host a joint paranormal investigation; 2 locations, 1 evening!

Both of these locations have ties to Patrick Henry and we are extremely excited to have the opportunity to investigate both in one evening with everyone. Patrick Henry resided at Scotchtown for a number of years while practicing law at the Historic Courthouse in the Hanover County Complex, while frequenting the Hanover Tavern!

More information will be announced soon, so keep your eyes on this site and our Facebook Page!

Hey everyone! We’ll be on The Freakin’ Awesome Paranormal Show Monday, June 4th starting at 8PM EST! We’ll be with the crew from the show talking about our paranormal experiences and talking about Hanover Tavern! So make sure you tune in! The lines will be open for folks to call in with questions or join in on our discussions, so we hope to hear from you!

Happy National Paranormal Day! To celebrate, we’ve partnered up with Hanover Tavern to give away a pair of tickets to our upcoming Haunted Hanover Tavern Tours on May 16th! On this evening tour, you’ll be able to learn about the history of the Tavern, as well as hearing accounts of paranormal experiences many have had at the Tavern!

The give-away will run until Sunday, May 6 at 12 noon. Winners will be contacted at that time to determine which tour time you’d like to attend (8PM or 9PM). Good luck, and see you there!
